BNSF down-bound through Cajon Pass

BNSF down-bound through Cajon Pass

BNSF takes to heart the principal elements in mountain railroading. Gravity is an equalizer that cannot and will not be ignored!! By use of dynamic braking, these units slow down a train of several thousand (five-figure) tons during it's descent from Summit at the top of Cajon Pass to the final turns leveling out at the base - a transition of approximately 3,000 feet in elevation.
